Robotic Shopping Trolley Welding

Having visited many automation suppliers and trade shows all over the world, the company Wire Products Poultry in Johannesburg was at a loss to find anyone willing to automatically weld their shopping trolleys together for them.

They found their solution on home soil in the form of Robotic Innovations. Many concepts were designed and simulated until the right solution ticked all the boxes. Holding something like wire in position proved much more difficult than anticipated. Having committed to designing and manufacturing the jigging systems as well, the Robotic Innovations team was relentless in finding a design that would work.

If it were not for the great Fanuc simulation packages we use everyday, this project would not have been realized. The system consists of one MIG welding Fanuc 100iD 8L welding robot, and one Fanuc R2000iC 165F spot welding robot with a servo spot welding gun.
